Comenius Slovenia 2 044Another week, another small European capital, or so it seems. Four of us are in Ljubljana, much  developed since I was last here in 2005, and it feels very homely and familiar. The 6th (or 5th, depending on how you count it) project visit of our Comenius program, based at Vrtec Najdihojca in the NW of the city, takes place between now and Saturday, and it will be really good to see friends from Sweden, Germany, Belgium, Holland, and of course Slovenia, again. The promise of meeting new friends, and the opportunity for challenging our thinking about early years, is not to be taken lightly, and it is a privilege to have arrived safely in this beautiful country once again.

About Huw Humphreys

I am a headteacher in the city of Milton Keynes, where I have been since April 2011, looking to make education effective for the whole child and keeping a distant relationship with the powers that be and their narrowing approach to education... but most of all I am looking to find out what it means to be both a follower of Jesus Christ and a passionate educator in the midst of an unsettled community. I am also a part time musician, part time linguist and lover of history and literature...committed both to freedom to learn and depth of learning for all our children. The views on this blog are all my own, and not in any way those of the school I lead!
